The Managing Director of Cresta Marakanelo Group, Mokwena Morulane says the opening of the hotel in Maun will benefit locals, as it employs 50 percent of locals. Morulane was officially opening of Cresta Hotel in Matlapaneng ward in Maun, which has already created 100 jobs. “Out of these, at least half are from Maun and the surrounding villages,” he said. Morulane said Cresta was inspired to come to offer the market a distinct facility that would be a prelude of the caliber of facilities in the delta, because Maun is the tourism capital of Botswana and the gateway to the delta. The hotel falls under their signature African Fingerprint gateway which includes hotels that are unique jewel within the Cresta family. It reflects a fully African landscape through different elements that make up Africa such as taste of food, texture and colour combination, he said adding that you will recognise that the base and prominent colour is brown and it represents the coffee coloured African landscape in the afternoon. Morulane stressed that the construction of the hotel took into consideration the protection of the environment and the eco-friendl, among them being recycling of waste water, electricity saving mechanism, water restrictors…
