The Pre-University & Academic Programmes (PUAP) Manager at Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST), Leapotswe Bantsi has been recognised by an international agency, the Association of Science Technology Centres (ASTC), based in the United States of America (USA). Bantsi has been nominated to receive the “Lee Kimche McGrath” award and is one of two African laureates awarded a grant of $2,500 as contribution for a travel and subsistence to attend an Association of Science –Technology Centres conference in Hartford, Connecticut in the USA from the 29th September to the 2nd of October 2018. The announcement was made by BIUST Director Communications & Public Affairs, Keoagile Rafifing on Friday. The award seeks to support pioneering professionals in the field of science education and science communication to participate in the Association of Science Technology Centres (ASTC). This year, the focus is on people who have proven commitment to science communication through their training and participation in the Science Circus Africa program.
