
Since he assumed power, President Mokgweetsi Masisi, has been globetrotting in what some said was to rebuild relationships with other countries which has collapsed over the years due to former President Ian Khama’s self-imposed exile from the international community. During his 10years as Head of State, former President Khama made very few state visits and has never attended both African Union (AU) and United Nations Summits, saying it was waste of time. But his successor – who represented Khama at these international forums – sees things differently. In his short time in office he has traversed the universe, having recently been to the China, United Kingdom, USA, and Switzerland and visited almost all SADC countries. This week he paid a state visit to Mozambique; his second trip to the country since assuming office.
