
Former president Ian Khama is the last man smiling after some of Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) parliamentary candidates he have fallen out with suffered defeats in the 2019 elections. The charismatic Ian Khama few back months ahead of the elections that were held this week unleashed election hit list to bring down some of democrats whom he felt they betrayed him. He marked some of the candidates amongst them Slumber Tsogwane who emerged victorious in Boteti West by defeating Sam Digwa of UDC therefore avoiding Khama’s two edged sword. Tsogwane defeated Sam Digwa of UDC, again for the second consecutive time by getting 7 006 votes with Digwa coming second 6 713 with Michael Molatlhiwa of AP garnering 344 votes only. Amongst his list, Khama made it loud and clear that Slumber Tsogwane, Dorcas Makgato and Bobonong youthful parliamentary hopeful Francisco Kgoboko were his main enemies to fight.
