Spiritual Sons and Daughters of Major 1 Church in Mmopane in collaboration with Taiwanese charity organisation, Tzu Chi Foundation, has donated over 1, 000 food hampers to residents of Tsetseng village in the Kweneng District as part of relief efforts against negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The hampers contained various food items such as bags of rice, canned food, vegetables and fruits, among others. Speaking during the handing over on Friday, the Head of Spiritual Sons and Daughters of Major 1, Apostle Vincent Majama said the donation was a response by the Church and Tzu Chi Foundation to calls by the Botswana government for all sectors of society to lend a helping hand in alleviating poverty, especially as many people lives have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Apostle Majama added that the donations were a part of a charity drive that the church launched in 2019 as an exercise of compassion, which he noted as one of the core principle of Christianity.
