Inskip Investments (Pty) Ltd, the publisher of The Patriot on Sunday newspaper, has produced a special commemorative magazine to celebrate women as part of the country’s 50th anniversary. The Patriot Woman though previously published as a tabloid insert of the main newspaper has been splashed into 40-page magazine covering leading women figures who have contributed to the country’s development to date. Managing Editor, Mpho Dibeela, says: “We have seen this as the best way of celebrating the heroines that are continuing to build this country. We see this as a niche that has not been served in the market. We shall be investing more in developing this product to be a stand-alone.” Keitebe Kgosikebatho is the magazine editor. “Women regardless of their social standing have had something to contribute to the building of this nation for the past 50 years. It is, however, sad to note that recognition whenever given seems to be concentrated and focused on men than on women,” she writes in her foreword.
