Former Botswana Congress Party (BCP) MP Bagalatia Arone who has defected to Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) has launched a scathing attack on his former party, saying its end is near. Arone, who was launched by BDP in his home village Shakawe on Saturday, said BCP is finished and its history. Arone said it is hard for members to accept the truth. “I know that it is hard for my former comrades to accept the truth; but the BCP is no longer there,” he said. He said BCP started to crumble at the 2014 General Elections when party President Dumelang Saleshando lost his parliamentary seat. He added that Saleshando loss was a big blow to the organisation as people started losing hope in the party. He indicated that the loss of the Vice President Dr Gobotswang who lost to Dorcas Makgat at Sefhare/Ramokgonami constituency also had a huge impact as supporters lost hope in the party.
