The Institute of People Management (IPM) was launched in Botswana on Friday. The Executive Director of the South African-based organisation, Elijah Litheko, officiated at the event that attracted local heavyweights of the Human Resource profession. Litheko said their mandate is to make sure that they have recognised community of expert practitioners in the field. They are affiliated to World Federation of People Management Association (WFPMA) through the African Human Resource Confederation. He said with Botswana now having launched its own branch they must mobilise their own resources. Litheko said that it was important that everyone who comes on board should have the vibrancy and positive energy to animate everything, blending of unique strengths, and augment experience by infusing fresh perspective. He said that as HR professionals, they should aspire to be leaders that make everyone smarter. Among the organisations that were represented there was Barclays Botswana, Botswana Railways, Botswana Examinations Council (BEC), Land Board and Kromberg and Schubert.
