
Limkokwing University of Creative Technology has pledged 20 scholarships for students living with disabilities amounting to P2 880 000.00, to the government of Botswana through Office of the President. This was done at the handing over ceremony of donations to the Presidential Charitable Trust on June 4, 2017 in Gaborone. The pledge followed an announcement that was made by the University in August 2016 stating that Limkokwing University of Creative Technology Worldwide had awarded 20 Tan Sri Limkowing Scholarships for Students with Disabilities for the new academic year of 2017/2018 to the Government of Botswana through the Office of the President, worth P2 880 000.00. The scholarships consist of 100% sponsorship of tuition fee only from any of the University’s 21st Century Innovative bachelor of arts, associate degrees and certificates programmes that shape careers of the future. In 2010 the University awarded 10 Scholarships worth P585 000.00 to people living with disabilities in Botswana still through the Office of the President, and to date all the beneficiaries of the 10 scholarships that were donated in 2010 have graduated with credentials that have allowed them to design in-demand careers and improve their livelihoods.
