
The Lady Khama Charitable Trust (LKCT) has continued its support for the less privileged and the disabled this week when they handed over a Sustainable Horticultural Project to Tlamelong Rehabilitation Centre. The Horticultural Project which was unveiled by LKCT patron Ian Khama was donated in conjunction with PPC Botswana. The project is aimed at improving horticulture studies at the Tlamelong Rehabilitation Centre to enable students to have proper learning. The sustainable Horticultural Project, included controlled environment chambers, water storage facilities and the pump. Tlamelong Rehabilitation Centre, which is run by Botswana Red Cross Society is a centre which provides vocational and educational services for children and young adults with disability. The centre currently offers two courses which are dress making and horticulture. BRCS Secretary General Mable Rammekwa thanked LKCT for their continued support for the centre. Rammekwa said the objective of the centre is to eliminate stigma for the disabled by providing a place for them to interact on their own. She said the aim is to give them the ability to function at their highest capabilities by equipping them with education.
