AP’s F/town launch postponed

The newly established Alliance for Progressives (AP) is reportedly facing a major financial headache ahead of its planned countrywide launches due to financial challenges. Following its glitz and glamor launch in Gaborone last weekend, expectations were that the party will immediately launch in Francistown. Launches being an expensive venture, sources say, the executive committee wanted to take advantage of the current momentum to carry out launches. AP vice president, Wynter Mmolotsi admitted that they wanted to take advantage of the wave of frenzy amongst the general public and launch the party in Francistown sooner than later. “All things equal, it was always going to be superlative and progressive enough to take the party to the country’s four cardinal points as soon as possible. But it is not going to be,” admitted Mmolotsi. They had set themselves a target of finishing all the launches across the country by February 2018. Mmolotsi said the Gaborone event left them financially battered. He said the Gaborone launch was the most expensive because the party had to design and print banners, T-shirts and all the necessary merchandise. “We were left in serious financial doldrums.
