BOFEPUSU to protest on June 16

Botswana Federation of Public Sector Unions (BOFEPUSU) Secretary General Tobokani Rari says they are going to mobilise their members to actively participate in the June 16 celebrations. The June 16 is a commemoration of the African Child and Rari said that they will be sending a clear message that they condemn the impregnating of school going children by elderly men. This he said it is prompted by the recent spate of child defilement cases currently rocking the country and involving some influential members of the society. Addressing the media on Tuesday, Rari said BOFEPUSU will ensure that their members play an active role in the celebrations and made it clear that they condemn defilement. “We will also use the commemoration to force Assistant Minister of Education Fidelis Molao and the councillor Kemmonye Amon to resign if not for the ruling party to recall them,” said Rari. Amon, a councillor in Sebina impregnated a school going girl and there have been calls for him to resign. The BOFEPUSU chief scribe said that they implore on Molao to resign from cabinet to allow investigations to be completed regarding his involvement into the Sebina sex saga and if cleared his make a comeback.…
