
The man who nearly brought down the political career of the Minister Environment, Natural Resources, Conservation and Tourism Tshekedi Khama has now been transferred to the Ministry of Transport and Communications. Elias Magosi - the outgoing Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources Conservation and Tourism who during the Parliamentary Committee on Statutory Bodies and State Enterprises - exposed how his principal disregarded corporate governance by singlehandedly running Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO). During the hearing, Magosi informed the committee that his relationship with Minister Tshekedi Khama had broken irreparably, having tried to seek the intervention of the Permanent to the President, but in vain. “It is a hard environment and the committee must understand this,” said Magosi and did not rule out the possibility of resigning because of interference from Minister Khama.
