The Patriot in Namibia – a sister publication to The Patriot on Sunday – celebrated its first anniversary on March 18, 2017 with the editor Mathias Haufiku declaring that the paper – “has dramatically changed the styles of presentation and dissemination of information” in the Namibian market. He said they are offering an alternative newspaper with an editorial content incorporating the established values of traditional journalism but designed to meet the demands and challenges of new media technologies. “The past year has been tough for the entire country, be it from governance, political or economic perspective and the media played a big role when it came to keeping the citizenry informed about events as they unfold.
